This assignment we had to take digital picture of a location at our school and alter it to give a different context and cause for a double take. We used photoshop to alter the reality of the photo that we took.

For this assignment I worked with the lighting of a glass box filled with seashells. The purpose of this was to create interesting shadows behind the object and what I got was more than I expected. I learned to work with different angles for the light and take more images then I think I need. The photo below was taken with an ISO of 80, an aperture of f/4.0 and a shutter speed of 1/8. I adjusted the tint of the image just slighlty and that was it.
For this assignment we were given a photo of a car from the auto show from many years ago and were tasked with re-touching it through photoshop by taking away the background and cloning, tinting and selecting.
I shot images of objects up close highlighting the small details that often change the subject of the object. It was interesting finding details that I hadn't seen in objects that were around m house that I see everyday. I also like the blurring contrast that some macro photos have in the background and that gradient affect of blurring. I learned that for this type of photo, a tri-pod is very important and lighting is as well. The ISO on this image is ISO 400, the shutter speed is 1/30, and the aperture is f/2.8. I also worked with the brightness and contrast in Photoshop. I also worked with the tint to give it a gold-like feel to it.
In my Still Life shooting assignment I used things around my household that I'm around the most. Ordinary objects that may be left in the background in normal instances but make for interesting subject lines for the category of Still Life. I learned that angles completely change the way a picture looks and often times you can find better pictures by changing it up. The Aperture for this photo is f-stop/8, the shutter speed is 0.4 while the ISO is 800. During the editing of this photo I adjusted the contrast and tint of the photo as well as a vignette to add emphasis on the darkness surrounding the candles.
This Pop-art Photoshop project was meant to be an intro to Photoshop and teaching it's many mechanics. I took the same image and changed it to fit 4 different colorized altered forms. They were then formed to fit into 4 evenly spaced quadrants. This product was a good learning experience for Photoshop and a good first introductory stage.
Assignment Description This assignment involved collecting images that fit all eleven of the photo compositions given to us. These photos were all collected around the Saline High School Campus and while there are many more like these ones before you, these were the selections for examples representing each composition. One of the challenges was finding examples for some of the harder compositions like Balance and Space. This was also fun because it caused me to explore parts of the school that I would have no reason to go to. I've learned that when capturing photos, the difference between a good photo and a bad photo can be a matter of feet. It is all about the distance, lighting, and angle of the shot. involving these and involving the compositions can turn subtle details into major results.
Welcome to Aidan Corrigan's BlogI am a High school student that currently resides in Michigan. I have been obsessed with baseball my whole life and continue to pursue baseball. I have a family of three with me being an only child. During the summer I will often work with my Dad in his self-run carpentry and handy-man business. I took this class because I believe it will be a good chance to express creativity and it will teach me to see my surroundings differently.
